Wow! This looks great. Can anyone attend this or is it just for those in leadership positions in the church? What is the cost?
This is an open invitation to all who desire to attend. There is no cost. More will be advertised in the next month.
Interesting titles. We certainly need more understanding of our roots in the Stone-Campbell Movement.
Shalom,
Bobby Valentine

Thanks, we gave some thought, as you can tell, into the overall series. It was difficult to squeeze almost 200 years into a day and a half.
The way this is designed will help people understand not just "heritage" and not just the "movement" but the principles that drove these men and hundreds like them to depart denominationalism and seek restoration.
We hope that you will join us for this weekend.
Will there be any recordings of the event?
Is this event sponsored by Oklahoma Christian?
Yes, this event will be recorded. You can request tapes by calling 1.405.756.2366 or by sending a note to that affect to:
Church of Christ
1205 W. Cherokee
Lindsay, Oklahoma 73052
This event is a joint effort of churches of Christ in Oklahoma and Texas.
If some of us from the Disciples movement were interested in a gentle conversation of dialogue concerning the use of the instrument during the q and a period would that be permissible?

How much will the tapes be?

During the Q&A we will be accepting questions. But it is designed to be a Q&A.
Might I suggest that we rent the chapel for that specific purpose at a latter date? I do think that we need to have more "gentle conversations of dialogue."
Rick
The audio tapes are free of charge as long as we are able to provide them.

I thought OC had cancelled their annual lectureship ? I know Tommy Haynes and he is a great pracher. I will be there!
So, just to be clear. The event is NOT sponsored by Oklahoma Christian? You're just renting the space, right?
Yes, Oklahoma Christian has cancelled their annual lectureship during this time frame. Thus, we thought it was a good opportunity for someone to sponsor a wholesome spiritual event.
Yes, we appreciate Tommy Haynes as well and look forward with anticipation to all the speakers and their assigned topics.
We have never made the claim that this was an event sponsored by Oklahoma Christian. What's not clear? It is sponsored by churches of Christ in Oklahoma and Texas and is on the campus of Oklahoma Christian at Scott Chapel.
I hope this helps.

I am a member of the Seminole, Ok congregation and our youth minister took all of us to Pauls Valley to hear Brent Stubblefield preach in a unity meetinglast summer. He seemed really young to be preaching but I will never forget that sermon. It was almost 2 hours long and I loved it. He has a memory and a half. Is this the same guy? How old is Brent?
His name is Bryant not Brent and hes probably about 35. He spoke at Duncan in a seminar a few years ago.
Unless he has changed his mind he does not believe in social drinking...haha.
His name is Brant Stubblefield and yes, he is the one who preached in Duncan and PaulsValley.
Brant is 27 and yes, he has a good memory and powerful delivery. We hope that you are planning to attend the seminar.
Where does Brant preach?
Brant and I preach for the church of Christ in Lindsay, Oklahoma. You are certainly invited to come and join us in our worship and adoration of God for His wonderful benefits. If you let us know well set another plate around the table.

Instead of having an expensive lectureship why don't you guys go out and knock some doors? I bet none of you guys would be up for that! Just a thought from one of your more progressive brothers in Kansas.
My good brother in Kansas, obviously you have made a grave error in judgment not knowing anything about us.
Just to set the record straight we have been on eleven campaigns in the last eight months from Wyoming to Virginia (9 in Oklahoma alone) teaching the gospel of Christ to a lost and dying world.
By the way, do you know how much this lectureship is costing? How much of the church’s budget should be spent on edification (which is what this is!)?
Maybe my progressive brother ought to be a little more conservative in his judgments from now on, hey?

Part of the reason fewer brethren are evangelistic is that mushy preaching has destroyed their convictions. When a person knows the truth and knows that he knows it, he more include to be bold.
This program will go a long way in equipping people to have conviction to be bold.
"A false church teaching a false gospel leads to false converts with a false hope."

That's alright with us. People like you hated Jesus too.
I just hope you repent before you die and go to hell.
anonymous, why do you "HATE CONSERVATIVES"? and what was it about this post that caused such a statement in the first place?
