Stewart Calls Concerning Cowtown Campaign

Longtime evangelist and well know campaign expert, Ivan Stewart called the Lindsay office this afternoon, January 8th, inquiring about the upcoming Cowtown Campaign in Fort Worth, Texas.

During this thirty minute phone conversation brother Stewart asked to see a copy of the campaign strategy in order that he might offer some suggestions. Evangelistic zeal is no stranger to brother Stewart who at 85 years young remains strong and active in the winning of souls (Pro. 11:30) Thanks, Ivan!

Cowtown Campaign scheduled for June 8-14, 2008 is exciting to say the least. We are currently in need of additional volunteers. Please call (405) 756-2366 or (405) 756-8629 to ask how you can join in with the campaign. As Nehemiah of old said, “let us rise up and build (2:17). Check this blog daily for breaking news about Cowtown Campaign!

Thanks to all,
Brant & Rick

I have known Ivan for years and he is an expert in the field. Let me say this though, the reflections staff, the Lindsay church and especially Rick and Brant are to be commended for their fire in getting the conservatives back together and engaged in these campaigns. God bless you, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

Ivan is still encouraging the winning of souls.

He is currently writing another book to help in the work of evangelism.

He wrote a book just a few years ago.

He is still encouraging those who are carrying on his work with OBS.

These old guys make one big mistake. They take it upon themselves to judge each person they meet and decide whether he needs "converting". Why don't you just share Jesus with them and let them make their own mind up. Rick and Brant, judging is not up to you.

Every person is either a missionary or a mission field.

The commission to take the gospel tot he whole world presupposes that most people are lost.

There are ample warnings in the NT to know that one should anticipate false messengers and false gospels.

To ignore the error that people have been taught is to be complicit with their condemnation.

Besides... HELLO, we are to judge...righteous judgment... and be will to be judged by the measure we use (ie, scripture).

Many texts also speak of presenting the gospel in terms like... reasoning, persuading, etc.

The correct assumption is that ALL men are lost unless and until they have obeyed the gospel plan of salvation. Denominations are in error at this very point, not to mention many other elements of doctrine and practice.

Grace Oriented,

Can you find that teaching in the Bible?

Was Peter judgmental when he said, "Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain" (Acts 2:22-23)?

Or when he said, "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:36-38)?

Maybe he should have just "shared Jesus with them!"

Judging is up to us and it is commanded of you my friend, if you did not understand this you would not have judged us for judging others (cf. Jho. 7:24; Acts 4:19; 1 Cor. 10:15).

If "Grace oriented" is right on his or her understanding of the Scriptures he or she would need to break out the leather and buggy-whip both Jesus and the apostle Paul. Both of these righteous preachers taught with staunch authority of which astonshied the hearers! Bold preaching was characteristic of the apostles and evangelists in the first century.
How can one honestly and prayerfully read the book of Acts and come away with the far fetched conclusion as "Grace Oriented" has done?

Should we present the gospel with as much compassion as Jesus did? Sure. A true heart of love seeks the best intrests of those who are receiving the message. That includes making "righteous judgments" (John 7:24), especially in the realm of evangelistic duties, which are commanded of each and every Christian. This duty can't be fulfilled without human judgment in force.

Logic itself (good ole' common sense) would tell us that the church would die with the slothfulness prescribed by "Grace Oriented".

Why did they stone Stephen, if he just "left it up to them"?

Wake up, brethren.
